Henry Green releases new single 'Swim' + Music Video
Richard Paine
Today, songwriter and producer, Henry Green releases his new single 'Swim', alongside a stunning music video which captures the song perfectly.
'Swim' is the fourth single from Henry's upcoming third studio album Familiarity, out May 24th. The track combines the best of Henry's two worlds: the acoustic intricacies of organic elements like marimba and his signature vocals, with his prodigious talent on electronic production. The result is a warm, soothing wave of electro chill, perfect to warm these winter months.
‘Swim’ started life as an ambient soundscape, centred around kalimbas, granular synths and a small handpan/tongue drum that my Mum brought back from India. I began to layer percussion around these sounds and it became clear that it was evolving into something a little more frenetic and dynamic. I think, from the outset, the instrumental felt like the undulating movement of water to me, and I wanted to accentuate that feeling with a playful synth line that rippled in an irregular fashion. Hopefully, the track captures the varying pace and intensity of water, and reflects changing patterns that we have with loved ones - Henry Green
